Hundreds Celebrate Fourth by Waving Foreign Flags

Miami is probably the only city in the United States that celebrates the Fourth of July by waving foreign flags.

On Saturday, about 500 people attended a rally in downtown Miami to voice their support for the military coup in Honduras.

Waving Honduran, Cuban, Venezuelan, Colombian and even American flags, the boisterous crowd celebrated the forced removal of a democratically elected president… » Full Story on NBC Miami

I don't get it. Makes no sense. If they love dictators and hate democracy so much why did they come here?

Good for you, did the demonstrators have citizen papers or are we paying their taxes? I wonder if they are Muslims? I think they get a free ride.

It's really sad to see that most of you still haven't figured out why Zelaya was overthrown in Honduras. Just like our driveby media, you've got everything backwards. The man that wanted to be "dictator for life" was ousted. The heroes of democracy are the Honduran military leaders who staged the coup. Zelaya had violated the CONSTITUTION of Honduras. The SUPREME COURT of Honduras had ruled against Zelaya, but Zelaya REFUSED to back down. The coup is justified.

Don't expect these lib morons to understand that, all they know is what the Obama media propaganda churns out.
They can't think for themselves.

This kind of thing is starting to sicken me. By law you enjoy your freedoms in our country. Why don't you foriegners show some tact and respect our day of independence by shutting the hell up.

Because its a free country . To freedom of speech and religion/I'm Italian and we have our own flag. And are proud to be americans. Then proud of our heritage. Like this country was built on.My grandparents came here through ellis Island . And spoke Italian.

I agree with them celebrating the removal of a wanna-be dictator. But I do wish they would have flown only our flag for a 4th of July celebration.
Were any of them Americans? Are they legally here? Maybe this was to get the point across to Obama that there are people in this country that don't support a dictatorship...In that case, I hope that he got the message.

BO is a radical Socialist. That's why he's on the same side of this issue as Venezuelan dictator Chavez, ex-dictator Zelaya, and the scoundrels at the United Nations. When was the last time you saw a dictator ousted and then peacefully forced into exile in a neighboring country? If the shoe had been on the other foot OR if Zelaya returns and grabs power, I guarantee you that he will willfully murder all of his political opponents.

Again I warn people to look deeper at the situation and not trust BO and the driveby media.

Regarding the other issue: The waving of foreign flags on 4th of July.

You lost your country a long time ago. This is no longer a melting pot that starts at Ellis Island. The Republicans and Democrats are equally guilty in this! It's been said that no one is watching out for the people. The Republicans just want cheap labor and the Democrats want the votes. Instead of a melting pot, we have a salad bowl with tomato over here and a cucumber over there.

If they're allowed to wave foreign flags in the south and other places, why can't the Rebel Flag be reinstated to where it needs to be in South Carolina? If it's come to the point to where Old Glory is no longer our nation's flag to these people, why can't we put the real southern flag atop the statehouse in Columbia, South Carolina again?

Alan I would have to disagree in part, we are still a melting pot. Your right about the Dems and Repubs at least as far as the politicans go. By still being a melting pot I mean we're still having new stuff thrown on the top of the pot where it forces what's already there to the bottom where it gets burned. If I read this article correctly the flags were waved mostly in support of the Hondurans who stood up for their Constitution and sent their dictator packing. Our method of doing this takes place in 2010 and 2012 and it's time to put apathy aside and vote FOR our Constitution lest we allow it to be taken without so much as a peep of protest, 'cause we likes our cakes and circuses too much.

Not very democratic if you ask me. In the USA you wave and American flag on 4th of July. You want to wave your Honduran flag go to Honduras or at least to your embassy. Respect our nation and our customs and our symbols.
We celebrate our independence from England on this day; not military coups in the 3rd world.

Whatever happened to the Pledge of Alliegence to the Flag of the United States of America. When I was in grade school we said it by memmory every morning before school. Welfare kids nowadays spit on it every day by speaking spanish and the like. Their parents didnt come here for freedom but to get something for NOTHING.

And this my FELLOW AMERICANS is what is wrong with our country today. Thes people who come NOW, don't really love America & want to see her prosper, they want to get what they can & damn the rest. If you are not here to be AMERICAN & put THIS Country FIRST, the it is time for the boat ride, plane ride, or car ride (illegals or leagals) back to YOUR country you seem to love more. I would be willing to pay an extra $25.00 in taxes to cover the cost, as I am sure mnay other AMERICANS would.

At first glance I was offended by people waving other countries flags on our Independence Day, but then I read the story, and although the author didn't have a clue, I realized the people waving the Honduran flags were making a comparison of their Constitutional Republic to our great Constitutional Republic. They, like the US, do not have a "democracy". Their ex-president got thrown out because he was trying to eliminate their constitution.

Obama and Hillary are supporting the deposed president because they're scared someone will finally call them on their overthrow of our Constitution and exile them to Costa Rica too.
